Research and Evaluation

To ascertain what current implementation and best practices look like across the state. This will include the development and analysis of a high school curriculum survey, as well as, the review and synthesis of other state’s curriculum.

It is with great pride and excitement that the State Education Resource Center (SERC) is organizing the ideas and expertise of educators, researchers, and historians from across the state to develop the African American/Black and Puerto Rican/Latino Course of Studies, as defined by CT legislation Public Act No. 19-12.

This will be the first model statewide curriculum in CT, and we anticipate its adoption by the State Board of Education in January 2021.  Given this tight timeline, we are seeking input from local high school implementers regarding current coursework and/or anticipated needs to ensure fidelity and efficacy of implementation by the 2022-2023 school year in every district.  Therefore, please ask as many of your curriculum coordinators, high school administrators, department heads, and teachers as possible to complete our curriculum survey no later than March 20th using the following link:  http://sgiz.mobi/s3/PA-19-12-High-School-Survey.
