Unveiling Students’ Power and Legacy of Resistance: What does it have to do with you?
Tuesday, February 13, 2024: 9:00am – 2:00pm
A conference for students & teachers – West Hartford Convention Center
Join us to be a part of this dynamic student summit where your voice, your talents, and your creativity matter. This day includes active, experiential learning, where we’ll explore the significance of Resistance in our world today. Through the lens of resistance and resilience, participants will unearth their own potential and engage in sessions infused with Art, Music, Poetry, Spoken Word, and Dance.
But what does Power and the Legacy of Resistance have to do with you? The answer is simple: Everything. It’s the driving force that propels us toward personal success, happiness, and meaningful service to our communities.
Leadership Launch video – June 7, 2023
To support the effective implementation of the African American/Black and Puerto Rican/Latino Course of Studies, district and school leaders and educators initiating the course in the 2023-2024 school year were invited to participate in the Leadership Launch sessions on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. “Sec. 2. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2019) (a) For the school year commencing July 1, 2021, and each school year thereafter, each local and regional board of education shall include African-American and black studies and Puerto Rican and Latino studies as part of the curriculum for the school district, pursuant to section 10-16b of the general statutes, as amended by this act.”
